Best free security scanners for vibe-coded apps (2026)
Short answer: use more than one. Your builder's own scan sees your code and database settings from the inside. An outside scanner sees what your live site actually shows strangers. A code scanner watches your repo. They catch different things, and most of them have a free option.
Every price, plan and quote below comes from each tool's own page, checked on October 21, 2026. Prices change, so follow the links before you decide. SniffPup is our product; we've tried to be fair and stick to facts.
1. Lovable's built-in Quick and Deep scans
Best for: anyone building on Lovable. The Quick scan runs automatically every time you publish and checks database access rules, dependencies and MCP server exposure. The Deep scan reviews your application code for access control, injection, leaked secrets and more. Lovable's docs say running either scan “is free.”
What we admire: it's built in, it runs on publish without you remembering, and the docs are candid: “These tools support secure application development, but they do not replace a thorough security review.”
Where SniffPup adds to it: Lovable scans your project before publishing; SniffPup checks the published site from the outside. See the Lovable app security scanner page.
2. Bolt's security audit and database check
Best for: Bolt.new projects. Bolt's docs say “we recommend running a security check at least once before you publish.” The project security audit is on paid plans and doesn't use tokens when run from the Publish menu; the database security check is on all plans.
What we admire: Bolt fixes most problems itself and clearly lists the ones you need to handle by hand.
Where SniffPup adds to it: an outside check of the live site, including secrets that end up in VITE_ variables. See the Bolt app security scanner page.
3. Supabase Security Advisor
Best for: anyone on Supabase. Supabase's docs describe Advisors as “deterministic checks that ship with the platform,” available in Studio, the CLI (supabase db advisors), MCP and the Management API. Its checks include tables in the public schema with Row Level Security disabled and overly permissive RLS policies.
What we admire: it sees inside your database, which no outside scanner can, and each check is documented with how to resolve it.
Where SniffPup adds to it: the Advisor can't see what your website ships, like a service_role key in your JavaScript. Read Supabase Security Advisor and SniffPup side by side or try the free Supabase exposed data checker.
4. SafeToShip
Best for: a fast outside check written for non-security people. Its pricing page sums it up: “Free scan in 60 seconds. Full report for $9. Unlimited for $24/mo.” The free tier shows a score, finding titles and severity, with no account needed. It runs 10 modules against your live URL, including Supabase RLS, Firebase rules and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
What we admire: plain-English results, fix prompts written for your specific AI tool on its paid options, and a free tier with no signup. Its database checks go further than SniffPup's free scan, which never queries your database.
How SniffPup compares, on facts: both scan for free with no account and list finding titles and severity. SniffPup's free report also explains one issue in full with its fix: full fixes free for every critical issue (with no critical, one other fix is free). SafeToShip's single-report unlock ($9) costs the same as SniffPup's ($9); SniffPup's includes 30 days of re-scans of that app.
5. Vibe App Scanner
Best for: deeper scans of a live app with ongoing monitoring. Its pricing page says “Run your first scan free. Pay to unlock the full results.” Paid plans are $19/month (20 scans, up to 3 projects) and $39/month (150 scans, weekly automated deep scans, up to 10 projects).
What we admire: copy-paste fixes for your AI tool on every finding on its paid plans, and breach monitoring plus email security checks on its top plan.
How SniffPup compares, on facts: SniffPup's free scan isn't limited to your first scan; you can re-run it any time, within fair-use rate limits. SniffPup's Starter plan is below its $19 price point ($15/mo, 3 apps, weekly re-scans), Pro is below its $39 price point ($29/mo, 10 apps, daily re-scans), and Solo starts lower at $7/mo for one app.
6. Aikido Security (free Developer plan)
Best for: apps whose code lives in a Git repo. Aikido's pricing page lists a Developer plan at “$0 / free forever,” including 2 users, 10 repos and 1 domain, with dependency scanning, static code analysis, secrets detection and DAST.
What we admire: a full security platform with a real free tier, aimed at developers. Lovable also offers an Aikido connector for AI penetration testing.
Where SniffPup adds to it: nothing to install or connect. If you shipped straight from a builder without a repo, paste the live URL and get a report.
7. SniffPup
Best for: a quick, passive outside check of a live Lovable, Bolt, Cursor or Supabase web app. Free, no account, email optional. It checks secret keys in your HTML and JavaScript (including Supabase service_role and sb_secret_ keys), public .env and .git files, source maps, security headers, cookie flags and HTTPS.
Limits: it doesn't log in, doesn't query your database on the free scan, doesn't see your code, and scans web URLs only, not native mobile apps. A 100 means no issues were found in our checks, not proof of security, and the SniffPup badge is never proof of security either.
A simple stack that costs nothing
- Run your builder's own scan (Lovable or Bolt) and fix the critical findings.
- Run Supabase's Security Advisor if you use Supabase.
- Publish, then scan the live URL with SniffPup, and add a second outside scanner if you like.
- If you have a repo, connect a code scanner such as Aikido's free plan.
More: every SniffPup comparison, all free checkers and how to find exposed API keys on your website.

Questions
What is the best free security scanner for a vibe-coded app?
There isn't one tool that sees everything. Start with your builder's own checks (Lovable's Quick and Deep scans, or Bolt's security check), run Supabase's Security Advisor if you use Supabase, then scan the live URL with an outside scanner such as SniffPup or SafeToShip. If your code is in a Git repo, a code scanner like Aikido's free plan adds another layer.
Do I need an account to scan my live site?
Not for SniffPup or SafeToShip's free quick scan. SniffPup only asks for the URL and an ownership checkbox; email is optional.
Does a perfect score mean my app is secure?
No. On SniffPup, a 100 means no issues were found in our checks. Every scanner on this page checks a fixed set of things, and none of them can promise your app is secure.
Can these scanners check native mobile apps?
SniffPup scans live web URLs only, not native iOS or Android apps. Check each other tool's own docs for what it supports.
